Obituary: Sherali Bandali Jaffer is dead
Muslims and government officials have converged for the Burial of Jaffer Sherali Bandali at the cemetery of the Indian community in Kololo, Kampala. He was a member of Uganda’s first Parliament and a former Member of Kabaka Yeeka Party Sherali Bandali Jaffer.
The Vice president Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi says that government have lost one of Uganda’s political icons. He was living in West Vancouver in Canada at the time of his death on the 27th of December 2014. Bandali and his family had fled Uganda in 1972 just before the expulsion of Uganda Asians by then president Idi Amin.
